Recently, in May 2016, I had the honor of doing a Core Conversation presentation along with Nikki Stevens (@drnikki) during Drupalcon New Orleans. You can view the presentation here:

This presentation sparked a BoF the next afternoon, and has moved to a desire to continue the conversation. Nikki Stevens now holds weekly Diversity and Inclusion discussions on IRC #drupal-diversity, and the Drupal Slack (drupal.slack.com) in the #diversity-inclusion channels. Check out Nikki's Diversity and Inclusion calendar for the next meeting times. All are invited to join in the conversation.

Speaking of joining in, we are also looking for contributors to a Diversity Survey: https://github.com/drnikki/diversity-survey

This was an amazing learning experience, and I truly hope that some people came away from this presentation with new knowledge and a renewed desire to promote diversity in technology, and the Drupal community specifically. I certainly did. I am now, more than ever, dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion across the board. I'm mostly focused on Women in Tech, but it certainly doesn't end there. We need to ensure everyone feels comfortable working in any industry they desire, no matter their age, orientation, gender, color, etc. We are all humans, and have lots to offer.

I'm interested to hear your thoughts on all of this.
